About the author

Nathaniel Stich came up through analytics — SQL, R, and Python — rather than agency-side marketing. At Scope3, creator of the agentic-advertising category, he led growth. He built the company’s AI-first site and a Claude-based marketing operating system that made growth, attribution, and reporting accessible without a dedicated data team, the same builder’s instinct behind this site.

His career has run through a string of real start-up exits:

  • Audigent (2022–2024) — built demand generation from zero as the company scaled from $18M to $100M in revenue, then was acquired by Experian.
  • Boxed (2021–2022) — joined through the company’s December 2021 NYSE IPO (BOXD).
  • Newgistics (2015–2018) — acquired by Pitney Bowes for $475M during his tenure.

As he put it in a 2025 interview, he sees marketing as fundamentally agentic now, “with humans orchestrating AI systems rather than competing with them” — the marketers who thrive will be “those who embrace this hybrid role: part data analyst, part creative director, part prompt engineer, all human.”
